Host of the Build Your Business Podcast that attracts ~400,000 weekly listeners. Now leading Surton's pivot to AI services, leveraging deep startup experience and technical expertise to help businesses harness the power of artificial intelligence.
Chris holds multiple cloud certifications (along with Ben) and is a strong advocate for small, elite teams, rigorous documentation, and an automation‑first culture. Known for clear thinking and calm execution under pressure, Chris partners closely with founders and executives to align technology decisions to business outcomes.
Ben Hayden
With 16+ years of hands‑on experience and an AWS Solutions Architect certification, Ben leads teams through large migrations, greenfield builds, and modernization efforts—turning ambiguous requirements into secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient systems. His work spans event‑driven architectures, containers and serverless, data pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
Before Surton, Ben worked with Chris as a founding engineer at BriteCore, the modern insurance platform. There, he helped shape the platform’s early architecture and engineering practices—shipping features, building CI/CD and observability foundations, and scaling cloud infrastructure to meet demanding operational needs in a regulated industry.
